Matthis Pascaud and Hugh Coltman have decided to pay tribute to one of New Orleans’ biggest stars, Dr John. With their new album Night Trippin’, they revisit Dr John’s sixties period. A skilfully measured and brilliantly constructed orchestration for a sultry mix of New Orleans tradition and electric ambience. An invitation to come and share their world.
A Briton turned Parisian by adoption, Hugh Coltman is a genuine fan of jazz, rock and blues. A former member of the bands The Hoax and Heez Bus, he has been performing solo since his album Stories from the Safe House (2008), noted for its jazz, blues and soul flavour.
Matthis Pascaud is an artist who captivates with his bold, volcanic and contemporary compositions. His guitar playing brings together his two main influences: rock for its sonic dimension and jazz for its improvisation. His music, described as ‘progressive jazz’, breaks down stylistic boundaries.
